Aswan High Dam is a rock-fill dam located at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan . The dam is fed by the River Nile’s water, and the reservoir created by the dam form Lake Naser

the dam’s construction began in 1960 during Nasser time and ended during SADATE Time.

The dam built by the help of soviet union and they built near the dam the sign of the friendship which not less important than the dam itself.

The hight of the dam 111m(364 ft), the length of the dam3,830m(12,570ft),the width(base)is 980m (3,220ft) the spillway capacity 11,000m3/s (390,000cu ft/s)

The dam was constructed with the primary aim of regulating the flow of the River Nile, which serves as a lifeline to almost the whole of Egypt.
